Abstract

Over the last few years, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become crucial in many engineering fields, and more specifically electrical as well as communication engineering. This paper describes how AI, Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning (DL) and Neural Networks are integrated into electrical and telecommunication designs to improve performance, reliability, and automation.  The study starts by looking at the theory behind AI and how it relates to engineering. It subsequently looks at practical uses like smart grid optimization, predictive maintenance of electrical equipment, improving signal processing, and automatic control of wireless communication networks. Furthermore, it discusses the contribution of AI to real-time fault detection, allocation of resources and energy consumption prediction which are essential mechanism for the efficient operation of system. The research importance relies on obtained advanced computational methods that use interfacing implementation on actual engineering problems. Research reveals major issues with AI including data and computational needs, as well as the opacity of these algorithms. The study findings demonstrate that the intention to use can significantly improve engine efficiency, operational costs, and autonomous decision-making. Hence, the use of AI in future engineering systems particularly those tied to electrical and communication systems is fundamental.
